World of darkness wolf forms3/30/2023 Their crinos form and regen capabilities make them effective from "go", with Rage and Gifts only adding to it. If you don't have initiative, and we're talking high gen low discipline level, then Werewolves are the top. Given time and opportunity a vampire can become more of a threat because of how much political/social power they have rather than outright combat ability, and they can always outlive you if they can evade you. What generation are we looking at? At low gens with experience and disciplines to match Vampires are excellent. Who has initiative? If they have initiative/prep time them Mages are god tier. A badass mortal is just that, a badass mortal Fomori/Possessed- generally they deteriorate with age, as taints accumulate and Autonomy reduces Though there are some incredible Rank 5 gifts, Werewolves just don't scale up in the same way that Vampires and mages do.į Tier- Mortals. Capable of pulling stunts that affect the entire planet.ī Tier- Earthbound- tremendously powerful in their immediate radius, though arguably limited by (1) their high torment and (2) the need to protect the idol/artifact that is their housing in the material world.Ĭ Tier- Werewolf elders. The Maeljin may not be enlightened as the Oracles are, but they've got the power of entropy behind them.Ī Tier- Arhats and Antediluvians. The Maeljin were mages who chose to become Avatars of the Wyrm- so Aliara is literally the Avatar of Lust, Aife is the embodiment of Cruelty, etc. Oracles are able to warp all reality at deep and fundamental levels. Ok, now what about at the God-Tier level (super-evolved templates)? Ghouls- junkies with some vampire powers Wraiths- they may have powers, and they're great spies, but the whole Angst/Oblivion/Shadow mechanics means that Wraiths aren't reliable, trustworthy, and are extremely short-lived. But at least their powers reliably affect everyone, unlike Wraiths and Changelingsį Tier: Regular vanilla mortals. That's the gist of how Changelings play out in grand melee pvp Fomori/Drones/Possessed- some power balanced out with a lot of suck. Imagine Mages if Mages could only do Mage stuff on other Mages, and were mostly otherwise mortal. Invoking the Wyrd/ Creative Cantrip use can be wildly powerful when it works- emphasis on When, because banality makes it hard to affect other supernaturals/ mortals. Kuei-jin - like vampires but with some better powers (Demon Shintai).ī Tier: Vampires- good spread of combat powers, can really kick a lot of ass if they can move to strength (ie can drain blood from one victim to fight the next victim) Revenants- Tough, a lot of advantages similar to Vampires, with the added benefits of Wraith Arcanoi C Tier: Mummies- some powerful abilities, and their signature thing is being able to come back D Tier: Changelings- fragile. In straight combat, without gifts/disciplines in use, werewolves wipe the floor with everybody else. A Tier: Werewolves- shape-changing regenerating killing machines. Mages- in the long run, with sufficient prep time, Mages can do more than Demons or any other supernatural template. But they can do a lot, and more importantly, they can do it without racking up paradox, and they have their apocalyptic form abilities as well. ![]() ![]() Ultimately, demons can't go to the level of reality warping powers that Mages can achieve. Of course Oracles/Methuselahs/Earthbound are going to rock the world. My tier list is going to be from basic starting character builds.
